My dad's younger brother, my Uncle Bob, passed away today. He had a slew of health issues and things had been looking grim for the past few weeks. I was not close to Uncle Bob, but it's still tough to lose a family member. My dad is hanging in there, but I'm sure it's not easy to see your little brother succumb to an illness. We all know that Uncle Bob is in a much better place, and in fact Dad and I had a nice conversation on the phone this evening about how Uncle Bob is partying up in Heaven with their younger brother (Uncle Tom), Grandma, Grandpa, my cousin Suzanne (Uncle Bob's daughter), and various other Langleys. It is comforting to think about Death that way, that you are finally at peace and happy, and surrounded by the rest of your family and friends, in a place where there is no more hurt, no more tears.
Rest in peace, Uncle Bob.
