Last Day of School
13 years of school are done, and today is Emily's official last day of high school! I can't believe how quickly the time has flown. We moved to Brookline when she was turning 10 (which also means we've now lived in Massachusetts for the same length of time as we lived in North Carolina). She graduates next weekend and will head back to North Carolina in August to go to college (East Carolina University). I'm such a sap; my eyes fill up every time I think of her leaving me. But I cry at Hallmark commercials, so it's only natural that such a big life event will make me tearful. It's a good thing though, and these are happy tears. I just have to remember to buy some waterproof masacara before graduation day!

The First Post!
I thought that I'd try out the blogging approach to keeping everyone up-to-date on our lives, since I've been so terrible about keeping up with the website. This new site should be easy enough to remember, right? I kept a similar name. :-)
For my most first post, I'll keep it short and sweet until I learn my way around the site, but thought I'd put up a recent photo of my teen and my toddler. You'll note that Emily has gone brunette again, and that Zachary has recently had a haircut (his 2nd!) They're sitting on the Mrs. Mallard statue of the "Make Way for Ducklings" statues in the Boston Public Garden. This is one of our favorite spots in Boston, and we went down there on Saturday of Memorial Day weekend when my family was visiting.
